For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Such a familiar passage of scripture, yet so profound! The very basic start of a Christians life as a disciple of Jesus Christ, yet its very statement declares the love and determination of a Father that is willing to go to the extreme for us.
It speaks of an artist, the creator of the world. Brilliant colors, and shapes, with depth and textures unmatched anywhere.
It speaks of action and value. He took what was His, to save what was His, using His most treasured possession, His very best for us.
It speaks of freedom. Even though He created us from His brilliance, He doesn’t force us to love Him back. He allows us the freedom to choose His type of life and His plans for us.
It speaks of security. He has a place for us to come to that will never end because our lives will be forever.
It speaks of inclusiveness. He wants us to be a part of Him in the place where He is. He doesn’t separate us. He doesn’t tell us to have it all together first. He celebrates our differences and loves us unconditionally. Thanks be to God!
