My dear friends, it sure has been some very trying days, but allow me to
encourage you from the best source I know, God’s word! We have a God who
loves us so much. He is so powerful that sickness and disease and weather
will and must obey Him. All of His creation is subject to Him, and if God
chooses to let it take this present life, the bible says in 2 Corinthians that to
be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I pray that these
scriptures will bring you the same comfort that they do for me. Allow them to
seep deep into your heart and mind as you meditate on the words and soak in
their meaning.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most-High will rest in the shadow of the
Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in
whom I trust. Surely, He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the
deadly pestilence. (A pestilence is a fatal epidemic disease!) He will cover you with
his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your
shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies
by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that
destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right
hand, but it will not come near you.” Psalms 91:1-7 NIV
“But now, God’s Message, the God who made you in the first place (Put your
name in here), the One who got you started (Put your name in here): “Don’t be
afraid, I have redeemed you. I called your name. (Put your name here) you are
mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough
waters, you will not go down. When you are between a rock and a hard place, it
won’t be a dead end, because I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy One of
Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you (Put your name here). That’s how
much you mean to me! That is how much I love you! I would sell off the whole
world to get you back, trade the creation just for you. “So, don’t be afraid: I’m
with you (Put your name here). I will round up all your scattered children, (This is
a promise to you if you have children who aren’t serving the Lord. Put their names in
here) pull them in from east and west. I’ll send orders north and south: ‘Send them
back. Return my sons (Name them) from distant lands, my daughters (Name
them) from faraway places. I want them back, every last one who bears my name,
every man, woman, and child whom I created for my glory, yes, personally
formed and made each one.’” Isaiah 43:1-7 MSG
“Then he got in the boat, his disciples with him. The next thing they knew, they
were in a severe storm. Waves were crashing into the boat—and he was sound
asleep! They roused him, pleading, “Master, save us! We’re going down!” Jesus
reprimanded them. “Why are you such cowards, such faint-hearts?” Then he
stood up and told the wind to be silent, the sea to quiet down: “Silence!” The sea
became smooth as glass. The men rubbed their eyes, astonished. “What’s going
on here? Wind and sea come to heed his command!” Matthew 8:23-27 MSG
These are some of my favorite scriptures that remind me how loved and
valued I am to God. I pray that you find peace and comfort in His word.
Remember to use your sword when the enemy comes with his doubts and
fears.
We serve a Risen Savior! Hallelujah!
